Professor Chau brings over 30 years of extensive experience in venture development and investment across the Asia-Pacific region. He is the Founding Chairman of PAVD, a non-profit venture platform uniting over 50 active investors, including angels, super-angels, venture capitalists, and private equity investors. His leadership extends to serving as the founding Vice Chairman of the Asian Entrepreneurship Education Alliance (AEEA), an organization established by deans and professors from more than 20 prestigious universities in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Additionally, he chairs the International Consortium for Innovation and Accreditation (ICIA), serves as Vice Chairman of HKBio, and was the founding Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network. Professor Chau also sits on the boards of several technology ventures and listed companies, including the health care operator Meilleure Health Group.

 

In academia, Professor Chau is a Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship at the CUHK Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he teaches MBA, FMBA, and EMBA courses on new venture creation, entrepreneurship, venture capital, and private equity. He has pioneered initiatives like the Taiwan and Singapore study trips for CUHK students, and through PAVD, he partners with multiple universities to offer practical entrepreneurship training and commercialization strategies for technology ventures and SMEs across Asia.

 

Beyond teaching, Professor Chau is a key figure in shaping entrepreneurship education. He serves as a Specialist for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications in the areas of entrepreneurship and venture capital, Curriculum Director of the Protégé Venture Capitalist Training Program at SMU, External Examiner for BBA Entrepreneurship at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia, and a member of the Advisory Committee for Business Degree Programs at Singapore University of Social Sciences. He is also on the Editorial Board of SAGE Open.

 

Professor Chau holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, a Law degree, a Master’s, and a Doctorate in Business Administration. He is a fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom, underscoring his comprehensive expertise in both business and academia.
